Chincoteague Island Oysters
Chincoteague Island, Virginia is well known for it's high quality oysters, locally called "Chincoteague Salts". The local waters are ideal for oyster production and visitors will see acres of oysters growing here on natural and cultivated oyster bars and reefs.
Visitors to the area will delight in sampling local oyster dishes and all the excellent fresh seafood that Chincoteague is known for. While visiting Chincoteague, one can even visit the local oyster museum.
Capt. Zack's carries both oysters in the shell and shucked oysters in our fresh seafood department, as well as several oyster dishes, including raw oysters on the half shell, steamed, single fried, fritters, and oyster sandwiches.
